Service

When we bought our house in Utah, it was winter and we didn't have a shovel when a storm came so we went to borrow one from our neighbor and he just gave us this one. It has made it through 6 winters of storms, but as you can see, it used to be about a third bigger. We just couldn't bring ourselves to throw it away because it reminded us of service and kindness. Everytime we used it we thought of our kind neighbor and of service. It was pretty hard to try to be sneaky and shovel someone else's driveway though because it left its "shovel print." It finally found its way to the garbage, but not without a picture.

That's hysterical! What...you thought you wouldn't need a shovel in HI?:) I love that you guys hang on to things that remind you about the "basics"...you are great examples of that...
